Silicon Valley – JAMS, the largest provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Hon. Richard M. Silver (Ret.) received the Nat Agliano Lifetime Achievement Award from the Monterey County Bar Association (MCBA).

Presented annually, the award recognizes individuals for their exemplary service and dedication to the pursuit of justice. The award—originally named the Monterey County Bar Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award—was renamed after Hon. Nat A. Agliano (Ret.) in 2018. Judge Agliano served as a JAMS neutral for many years and received the award himself in 2011.

“Judge Silver’s decades of experience and reputation for fairness and efficiency have established him as a leader within the legal community. He is revered for his ability to get to the root of complex legal issues and help parties reach equitable resolutions. We are proud to have him serve on our panel and congratulate him on this well-deserved achievement.”

Chris Poole, JAMS CEO

Prior to JAMS, Judge Silver served as a superior court judge in Monterey County for 25 years. Since joining JAMS in 2002, he has successfully mediated or arbitrated hundreds of disputes and brings extensive experience in business and commercial disputes, real property matters and broker issues, among a host of other practice areas and disciplines.

The award was presented at the Monterey County Bar Association’s Fall Bench Bar on September 14 in Seaside, California. More information about the award and the Monterey County Bar Association can be found here.
