Dick, Jr., Esq., has been recognized with the 2023 George McClenahan and Peter Hughes Civility Award by the San Diego Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
Presented annually, the George McClenahan and Peter Hughes Civility Award is a lifetime achievement award and the San Diego chapter’s top honor for lawyers and legal practitioners, recognizing professionalism and civility. Founded in 1958, ABOTA is an invite-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. ABOTA, its regional chapters and its members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Throughout his many years of practice, Mr. Dick has remained steadfast in his commitment to treating parties with integrity, empathy and respect—qualities that reinforce the goals of ABOTA at the national and regional levels. Mr. Dick is a former president of the San Diego Chapter of ABOTA and is an experienced dispute resolution professional with more than 30 years of experience as an arbitrator and mediator. As a professional known for his sound judgment and fair-mindedness, he had a distinguished career as a trial lawyer that spanned 50-plus years and involved litigation and arbitration of complex business and commercial matters, as well as a wide range of high-stakes domestic and international disputes. In his role at JAMS, he specializes in resolving an array of complex disputes, including class action litigation and cases involving antitrust, business and commercial, securities, employment, toxic tort, real estate and professional liability issues.
