Hon. Nancy L. Allf (Ret.) Honored With Legal Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award by Las Vegas Defense Lawyers

Allf (Ret), has been honored with a Legal Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award by Las Vegas Defense Lawyers. The award was presented during its annual Spring Gala on April 12.

Las Vegas Defense Lawyers is an organization of lawyers engaged in the defense of civil litigants and provides a forum for mutual education through the exchange of ideas with counsel in Las Vegas and the Clark County area. The organization helps to promote cooperation, civility and the overall enhancement of its members, and works to improve public perception through service to the community.

Judge Allf is known as a problem-solver in the industry for her work on difficult disputes and situations and is a respected figure in the Las Vegas legal community. She served as a leader on the bench for 13 years and remains a role model for many individuals aspiring to have flourishing careers in the law. We congratulate her on this outstanding recognition.

Judge Allf served as a district court judge for the Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court for 13 years, from 2011 to 2024. She also served as a Business Court judge for most of her time as jurist, handling a wide range of cases involving business tort, business divorce, breach of fiduciary duty and relationships, business judgment rule, derivative causes of actions, and the purchase or sale of a business’ stocks, assets and commercial real estate. As one of four judges on the Business Court for 10 years, she handled one-quarter of all Business Court cases in Clark County.

As a neutral, Judge Allf is known for her intelligence, decisiveness and tireless effort to accomplish what needs to be done in each case that she handles. She is adept at resolving complex and high-conflict cases and works with attorneys to find creative paths to resolution. In her role at JAMS, she serves as an arbitrator, mediator, special master/referee and neutral evaluator, handling business/commercial, personal injury/tort, construction, employment, probate and estate, professional and product liability, bankruptcy and cannabis cases.
