Seattle – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Justice Faith Ireland (Ret.) will be honored with the King County Washington Women Lawyers’ 2024 Betty B. Fletcher Judge of the Year Award. Justice Ireland received this award at the organization’s 2024 Judicial Appreciation and Honors Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle on June 12.
Presented annually, this award recognizes judges for their extended commitment to fostering and improving the treatment of women and other minorities in the legal system. Washington Women Lawyers (WWL) is Washington's largest organization dedicated to furthering the full integration of women in the legal profession and promoting equal rights and opportunities for women. Through the combined resources of a statewide organization and a network of local chapters, the organization offers programming and support for women lawyers throughout the state.
The award’s namesake, Judge Betty Fletcher, was the first woman to become a partner at a major Pacific Northwest law firm and the third woman to be appointed to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Justice Ireland has built a significant reputation for working to improve the treatment of women and other minority groups in the legal system and is a well-known figure in the Washington legal community. JAMS is proud to have her on our panel and congratulates her on this outstanding recognition.
