San Diego – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Rian W. Jones, Esq., has joined its panel. Mr. Jones joins JAMS following a 39-year legal career as a trial attorney. He spent the past 15 years representing common interest developments and homeowners associations in a variety of cases.
Mr. Jones began his legal career representing developers and contractors in construction defect litigation. From there, he spent over a decade as a director and trial counsel for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, where he represented a variety of clients in cases involving premises liability and personal injury, including catastrophic injuries and wrongful death claims, commercial and individual motor vehicle accidents, and real estate agents and brokers in professional negligence claims.
Based in the San Diego Resolution Center, Mr. Jones will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, referee/special master and neutral evaluator, handling common interest development, business/commercial, personal injury/torts, insurance coverage, real estate and real property, professional negligence and construction defect cases. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country.
Mr. Jones has an incredible track record of leading precedent-setting cases as a litigator and is respected for his ability to understand the nuances of complex cases and secure valuable outcomes for his clients. Beyond that, he has tremendous skill in working with parties to understand the issues that underline conflict and will be a great asset as a JAMS panelist.
- Chris Poole, JAMS CEO
Mr. Jones also was a partner at a national law firm litigating cases involving commercial claims, breach of contract, toxic torts and multiple chemical sensitivity. During this time, he was part of the team selected by the lead insurance company to manage nationwide litigation for the manufacturer of a dietary supplement. Throughout his career, he has been lead counsel and/or involved in several appeals resulting in precedent-setting opinions.
While I enjoyed handling both plaintiff and defense work as a litigator, I found the most satisfaction in resolving disputes through ADR. The certainty of a settlement is preferable to the uncertainty of a jury verdict.
- Rian W. Jones, Esq.
Mr. Jones earned his B.S.L. from Western State University and his J.D. from Western State College of Law.
