New Panelist Announcement

Miami – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce Dorian K. Damoorgian, Retired Judge, Fourth District Court of Appeal, has joined the panel in Miami. Mr. Damoorgian joins JAMS following a distinguished judicial career spanning 25 years.

Mr. Damoorgian served on the Fourth District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach, Florida, from 2008 to 2025, including two years as chief judge. During his tenure, he authored over 525 opinions that addressed a variety of issues, including those related to jurisdiction, substantive and procedural due process, statutory interpretation, application and interpretation of rules of procedure, evidence, jury selection, dispositive pretrial motions, post-trial procedure, discovery and damages. Having presided over cases involving issues of arbitrability, the interpretation of arbitration agreements and the enforcement of arbitration awards, as well as actions to enforce mediated settlement agreements, he has a wealth of knowledge about the ADR process.

Based in the Miami Resolution Center, Mr. Damoorgian will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, court appointed neutral (special magistrate/referee) and neutral evaluator, handling business/commercial, real estate and real property, construction, employment, and class action and mass torts disputes. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

“Mr. Damoorgian brings a wealth of experience from both the trial and appellate benches, offering meaningful insight into complex arbitration and mediation matters. His background will serve clients well as they navigate even the most challenging disputes.”

Kimberly Taylor, JAMS CEO and president

Prior to joining the appellate bench, Mr. Damoorgian served as a judge on the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Florida from 2000 to 2007, where he worked in the civil, criminal, dependency/family and domestic violence divisions. As an administrative judge in the civil division, he was charged with establishing the court’s complex litigation division. Earlier in his career, Mr. Damoorgian worked in private practice from 1980 to 1999.

“My commitment to JAMS reflects my experience over the past 25 years — as a judge in the trial and intermediate appellate courts — with the ADR process and its unparalleled rate of success, saving litigants both time and money,” said Mr. Damoorgian.

Mr. Damoorgian earned his B.A., cum laude, from American University and his J.D. from Samford University Cumberland School of Law.
