Tips to master mediation advocacy

What are the keys to success for lawyers representing clients in mediation? There are many possible answers to that question, but after a year of doing virtual mediations, we thought it would be helpful to look at this from a new perspective: Have the ways to master mediation advocacy changed since March 2020? If so, how? Or have they remained the same? Based on our experiences as a mediator in private practice and a settlement judge and, more recently, our experience as neutrals here at JAMS, we’ve boiled our answers down to 13 mediation advocacy tips.
