JAMS Shortlisted for Global Arbitration Review’s Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge Award

JAMS is recognized for industry-leading diversity and inclusion initiatives

Awards

Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is honored to be named to the shortlist for Global Arbitration Review’s (GAR) 2020 Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge Award. The Pledge Award seeks to recognize leading international arbitration institutions and practitioners for their commitment to improving the profile and representation of women and minorities in arbitration and ensuring they are appointed as arbitrators on an equal opportunity basis.

JAMS was recognized by the GAR Awards for introducing a diversity and inclusion rider option to its standard arbitration clauses and appointing a diversity program manager to promote these efforts in the organization. JAMS was the first major ADR provider to take these steps.

Recognitions like the GAR Awards’ Pledge Award play an important role in continuing to drive awareness of the diversity and inclusion challenges facing the industry, and we are proud to be named among the organizations that are making a difference.

- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

Diversity and inclusion continues to be an opportunity area within ADR, and our goal at JAMS is to introduce initiatives that will make an impact beyond our organization. We look forward to continuing to drive these efforts and collaborating with others in the legal industry to move the needle.

- Mark Smalls, JAMS Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer and Chair of the JAMS Diversity Committee

For more information on JAMS’ diversity and inclusion initiatives, including the diversity and inclusion clause option and the appointment of the industry’s first diversity program manager, please visit the JAMS Diversity and Inclusion webpage.

Winners of the GAR 2020 Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge Award will be announced on July 9.  More information on the awards can be viewed on GAR’s website (subscription required).
